Our Offsite Backup Centre

You want to know that your online data backup is in safe hands. That’s why we’d like to show you the state-of-the-art premises where it's stored: to give you confidence that we do the utmost to make your offsite backup the safest there is.

Electrical Supply and Security

Main power to the facility is provided by a Dual Ring 4MVA circuit; in the highly unlikely event of a power failure, the generator will start automatically within 30 seconds and the electrical load be transferred to it.

There should be no interruption in power supply to client equipment during this ‘start-up’ period, thanks to our 1,600KVA Uninterruptable Power Supply. Upon restoration of electricity and verification of its stability, the load will be transferred back from the generator.

Connectivity

• There’s no risk of your data transfer to our offsite backup centre ever being interrupted thanks to the multiple independent fibre links that enter the centre at several different access points. These links are controlled by a fault-tolerant core network that can re-route information if an error occurs anywhere in the data transfer process.

Cooling

• The air temperature at our online data backup centre is controlled by N+1, non-ozone depleting air conditioning units kept at 20C. Consistent ventilation is ensured with out warm / cold air rack layout.

Fire Protection

• Fire risks are controlled by a non-ozone depleting VESDA smoke detection system, with early smoke particle detection and FM200 fire suppression to keep equipment safe.

Security

• Security staff guard our online data backup centre 24x7 all year round, monitoring the extensive recorded CCTV system continuously, minimising the risk of a security breach.
